No one understands your vision for your business better than you do. As such, you will likely have the concepts of your product roadmap at laid out for at least the next 1,3,5, and 10 years. But usually your organisation's concepts are built upon the technology that you know is either available or currently in development.
As the IoT industry evolves at the rapid pace it currently does, the technology in the next 3 years is largely known, but beyond that, it is only really speculated about. You need to be aware of these future concepts and to hold some kind of plan for their adoption if need be.
I can help with introducing you to many of these design houses or technology partners with a view engaging as early as possible.
Once you have your path laid out, you will then need to look at who is going to supply that connectivity? So here's your next big issue. The GSMA Intelligence's database includes data on 1,250 mobile operators, 80 operator groups, and 4,600 networks across the world. At the end of year 2022, there were 1,986 active mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) globally, coming in at more than two times the amount of traditional telecom network operators.
So you can see how impossible it would be for you to look at, scope, engage with, and test anywhere near enough of them to be certain that you are getting anywhere near the best possible choice for your business needs.
One of my key strengths is that I have spent 25 years networking within this industry and I know most of the significant vendors in the IoT Space. And whilst even I am not bold enough to claim that I have worked with them all, I can almost certainly claim to know more about them than most.
Once I understand your business and it's needs I can make suitable and more educated suggestions on who to evaluate and test. Thus significantly reducing your time spent and greatly increasing your exposure to the right vendors.
IoT Connectivity is not just about sim cards. and not all sim cards are equal. If you think that way, then I would suggest that you may need my input more than you know. This industry will intentionally mislead you. It will give you false representation of value and convince you to sign up for things that you don't need... I have witnessed this time and time again.
Let me be the sounding board for you and your team. Remember, I don't charge for my services or time so you have nothing whatsoever to lose.
