Standard business practice would dictate that in order to obtain a fair deal, it is wise to evaluate at least 3 options. Get three quotes... Get three proposals etc etc.
But when the options available to you number over 4,000, how can evaluating just 3 possibly be enough to ensure that you are getting an appropriate cross section of the connectivity vendor market? In short, it cannot. And to even believe that this is the case would be, and should be considered very unwise indeed.
But conversely, having to engage with, explore, and evaluate anywhere near enough viable vendors, to ensure that you get a decent overview would be logistically impossible also. So what do you do when faced with a metaphoric candy shop of connectivity options?
Very simple. You get ruthlessly specific about what it is that you want.
I see clients every day who simply 'Made do' with their final vendor selection. "they were the best out of the ones that we looked at" is one of the most common excuses that I encounter. When asked how they decided upon their final options, it's either a case of previous experience, a referral, or price... "they were the cheapest!"
Don't get me wrong, this is such a common process, that it is even considered best practice... But in reality it is simply no longer effective enough. You need to get really specific with both your operational and commercial needs (in that order), and you need to ensure that anyone that you eventually test with, are able to provide everything that you need.
I can help you in this regard by at least explaining what is technically possible today or in the future. Either Short, Mid, or Long term.
I can explain all of the options open to you in a way that enables you to decide what direction to take. I can give you a much more defined choice of vendors, whom I know can provide at least everything that you need; Both technically and commercially.
I can explain how vendor pricing works, so that you get the best deal for you and NOT for the vendor. I can show you what business model would be best for your commercial objectives, or what vendors have the most appropriate support systems in place for your business needs.
I can help you reduce the pool of possible vendors down to such a degree as to ensure that you are making a selection from arguably the best of breed for your specific needs. In effect, I will act as your quality control.
IoT Connectivity is more than just a plethora of Mobile Network Operators or their Virtual counterparts. Of course, there are always huge similarities between the services offered, but this is also a very niche industry. Some vendors will specialise in certain markets, or certain technical offerings, while others will focus on geographical services and their offerings will reflect that.
What you need to do, is to narrow your field of selection down to a few vendors that align exactly with your specific needs and objectives. I can help you with that.
